❤️HER NAME IS MAREA BAMBINA ALICE YANN! ❤️

Esther Yann was nine when her darling grandmother was murdered. She’s spent 22 years waiting for justice.
Marea Bambina Alice Yann was killed in her home at Healesville, Victoria, on September 30, 2003. She was 69 years old.
The person who ended her life did so with deep savagery. She suffered severe injuries while she was sitting in her chair watching television. She’d only spoken to her daughter a short time before the killer attacked.
When Marea was killed, Melbourne was in the midst of a huge gangland war. The media loved it – this was perfect tabloid fodder and front page after front page was published.
The intense media spotlight put pressure on police who poured all their funding and resources into ending the reign of violence by gangs.
But other cases suffered. One of those was Marea’s murder investigation.
Marea’s former son-in-law Joseph Unumadu is alleged to have beaten her 22 times while she was in her chair watching TV.
It’s alleged he was angry because Marea supported her daughter when she decided to leave him.
He was acquitted at trial.
The weapon used to kill her was not found.
Unumadu had harassed Marea repeatedly and is alleged to have hired a ‘witch doctor’ to put a hex on her.
It was claimed he boasted about killing Marea and that he made death threats. A lot of this evidence never went before the jury.

Marea’s family believes the jury got it wrong.
Marea is mum to Jeff, Ronda and Pauline and grandmother to Esther, Bella, Milan and Renee.
“I don’t blame the jury, as they only made their decision based off the evidence they were presented,” Esther says.
“I hope a future trial presents some new and compelling evidence that results in a conviction.”
“We have some great detectives working with our family, but I feel that more can be done and I hope that those handling the case can finally put an end to this and give us closure.
Marea’s family offered a $100,000 reward to trap her killer. Victoria Police now have a $1m reward for information.
Every day Esther grieves the woman who was renown for her kind heart and generosity.
Marea supported people with addiction, volunteered with charities and made food at Christmas for those in need.
“She was cheeky and had a wicked sense of humour,” Esther says.
“She loved animals and kids.”
Esther hopes police will soon arrest the person responsible for Marea’s death.
“We have some great detectives working with our family, but I feel that more can be done and I hope that those handling the case can finally put an end to this and give us closure,” she says.
“Every day we wait for a phone call to say her murderer has been arrested – 22 years and still we wait.
“Some days we are faced with sadness, while other days are filled with rage.”
MAREA BAMBINA ALICE YANN MATTERS!❤️
