Singer Dean Lewis has lost his ARIA and TikTok award nominations in the wake of revelations about his behaviour.
He’s accused of grooming young fans, sexual assault, sending inappropriate messages to teenagers and even lying about his age.
Island Records Australia covered up the accusations and those close to him attempted to silence the women with cease-and-desist letters.
“He messaged me asking if I was going to be at his show, if I was going to ‘look all hot and beautiful for him’,” Elaina – one of the women who have spoken out – says.
“I knew there would be some sort of sexual nature to us hanging out, but the nature of it made me really uncomfortable. It went from zero to 100. I was kind of taken aback.
“He was trying to say anything he could say to get me to say yes. I remember him saying” ‘We are two friends who are attracted to each other and want to have fun. He looked at me and asked: ‘Do you want to make me happy?’.”
News outlet the Canary reports his team sent cease-and-desist letters to the accusers in an attempt to silence them.
“I can’t really work for this guy anymore. Not only does he treat all of us kind of bad. He also seems to not have his head screwed on in his interaction with fans,” an insider told Canary.
Meanwhile, Lewis made some sort of ‘apology’, saying: “I am enrolling myself in intense therapy”.
