It beggars belief that a judge can decide a woman’s life is worth so little.
Rene Latimore’s killer will be eligible for parole after serving three years.
THREE YEARS!
The 17-year-old male killed Rene on August 9, 2021, near Mackay in Queensland. She was only 31 and a mum to a 14-year-old lad. Rene was found weeks later. She was bound with tape and zip ties. Her clothing was partially removed. Only her killer knows how he ended her life. He was charged with murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

He has just been sentenced to nine years in jail with parole eligibility after serving three years. With time served, he can walk from prison on June 12, 2026. This is one of the lowest femicide sentences I’ve recorded in the past 10 years.
“You made a choice to let us all suffer, despite witnessing the terrible impact Rene’s death and the investigation had on our family,” Rene’s sister said in her victim impact statement.
“You chose to let it drag out until the last possible minute. I will never be able to forgive this needless cruelty you forced upon all of us, nor can I forgive what you did to my sister.”
RENE LATIMORE MATTERS!❤️
