Police illegally gave the home addresses of domestic and family violence victims to their abusers via a court document process!
The Queensland Police Service case management system, called QPRIME, was automatically inserting victim address details into court forms. Officers were told to manually remove the information — but they didn’t.
At least 368 forms contained victim, respondent or offence location addresses and eight of the documents automatically disclosed those details without manual intervention.
Offenders were able to locate victims and commit further acts of violence against the victims.
“QPS will take time to consider the report and its recommendations in closer detail, to determine a suitable action plan moving forward,” Queensland Police said.
