Apparently, someone woke up one day and decided they really must have a child rapist working with children. Again!
Down in Samford Valley in Queensland, an upstanding good bloke called Steven James Harvey is working at the City Chicks Farm and Cafe.
Harvey was convicted on 15 charges including maintaining an unlawful relationship with a child, indecent treatment of a child, nine counts of rape (domestic violence offence) and sexual assault (domestic violence offence). He copped eight years in jail.
City Chicks is a venue where people bring children to hang out with farm animals.
So here’s the thing. This is his second ride on this particular round-a-bout – about eight weeks ago the owner of the venue was told by media about the predator in their ranks.
Ingrid Dimock told the Courier Mail on November 13 she had no idea about Harvey’s background and immediately ended ‘their personal and professional relationship’ when she found out.
Nine News has been snooping around the venue and guess who they found back on the roster?
Only this time, he’s billed as one of the owners of the property and the head chef. He also features in videos promoting the business.
In an interview with A Current Affair, he said he was not working near the children.
“I’m not doing anything wrong. I’ve had the police out here,” he told the outlet.
“They know that I’m here. They don’t have a problem with me being here. Why do you?” Harvey said.
Dimock said: “After carefully reviewing the situation with authorities, he is contributing legally in a strictly operational role behind the scenes, with no contact with children.”
Queensland Police is investigating.
