Jason William Forbes was building a fortified sound-proof dungeon in his Perth home, where he planned to hold a girl captive for repeated abuse.
Police found out about the plan when they tracked his internet searches and found a ‘mind-map’ of notes – including ‘stun gun, taser’, ‘my daughter would love to meet you’ and ‘grab and walk’ – on a mirror at his house.

He came to police attention when Australia Border Force officers intercepted a child-like rape doll in mid-2024.
The 37-year-old has been convicted of multiple offences and jailed for 7.5 years.

“Your use of the internet shows a clear and detailed degree of searching to prepare or plan to engage in sexual activity with a child,” the sentencing judge said.
“That planning revolved around the abduction of a young female child by means including pretending to be a police officer.
“You were making modifications to your home consistent with your planned intention to engage in sexual activity with a child.
“Much of your conduct was intended to avoid the risk of detection.
“This was not impulsive conduct but one that was preceded by sustained and deliberate preparation over a number of months.”
Forbes is eligible for parole in December OF 2029.
