A former footballer and prominent business owner is charged with assaulting his ex-partner.
Shaun Patrick Edwards faced a court on February 27, charged with aggravated assault and choking, strangling or suffocating.
He is also the subject of a domestic violence order.
The House of Darwin founder says he will contest the charges and will return to court on May 18.
The court also listed him for case management around the police-issued domestic violence order.
