Anthony Eriksen stabbed Lisa Fenwick 28 times. She died on the floor of the bedroom of her Sydney home on April 9, 2023.
He covered Lisa with a washcloth and called 000, saying he ‘put a knife’ into her.
Lisa provided ongoing financial support for Eriksen and had just told him she was leaving the relationship.
She had also texted a friend she lived in fear of the violent man.
Eriksen was charged with murder.

At trial he claimed he did not mean to kill Lisa (despite targeting her heart and lungs) because he suffered from sane automatism by dissociation – in other words he was ‘sleep-walking’.
Eriksen was convicted and sentenced to 26 years behind bars – now he is appealing and using ‘sleep-walking’ when he lodges his appeal.
It’s not a new defence – rapists have been getting away with harming women by claiming the same thing. Although in this case, the defence is labeled ‘sexsomnia’.
