JUSTICE FOR ALICIA

JUSTICE FOR ALICIA

The Justice for Alicia Little Campaign is focused on Australian authorities working together to roll out a national domestic violence offender database.
Alicia’s partner deliberately killed her with his car on December 28, 2017 at Kyneton in Victoria. She was 41 years old.
Charles McKenzie Evans served just 2.5 years. He was originally charged with her murder but made a deal with the Victorian public prosecutor to plead guilty to dangerous driving causing death and failing to render assistance.

THE FOLLOWING WAS WRITTEN BY ALICIA’S AUNT CINDY.

Charlie Evans must pay for his actions. He had been previously charged with domestic and family violence in NSW with his former wife and children before he met my niece. However, since he moved states, there was no paper trail or warning of his previous convictions.

Domestic violence is a heinous crime and someone convicted of this should be guilty Australia-wide. This will make it difficult for abusers like Charlie Evans from repeating their violent acts and destroying more lives.

That’s why we are calling for greater co-operation between interstate courts and justice systems. No amount of penalty can bring back my lovely niece, but a changed law can help protect other victims like our Alicia from being robbed of their lives, their futures.
