Turns out, the so-called mushroom murderer Erin Patterson murdered FOUR people and we do not talk about the final victim enough.
His name is Wayne Flower and he is ‘perhaps her last sad victim’.
Wayne wrote one of the most unhinged takes of the Patterson trial. In which he becomes the victim.
Before we get to Wayne’s story, here’s the context.
Our good mate Wayne – known for slut-shaming and victim-blaming femicide victims like Isla Bell – was sent to Morwell to cover the Patterson trial by that upstanding bastion of Aussie journalism the Daily Fail.

In his op-ed for the Daily Fail he whines about having to attend court every day (his actual job).
He whinges about avoiding the “junkies and degenerates” (yes, his words) of Morwell.
He moans about being stuck in a “cramped hotel room” (his words).
And he reckons he was and “terrorised further by the locals who stalked us in the daylight hours” (his words).
And then …. And I quote: “Something about this trial felt cursed. The grind and my absence had made my partner of 24 years — the mother of my two children — come to realise she no longer needed me in her life. Days after my 50th birthday, for which she had organised a surprise party with all my friends and family in attendance, she told me she no longer loved me and I was discarded like yesterday’s newspaper.”
And finally: “But the trial went on and so did I. Perhaps the last sad victim of Erin Patterson.”
RIP Wayne Flower: The world was too harsh for a sensitive soul like you!
