SHE MATTERS: CAROLYN CAMPBELL

❤️SHE MATTERS: CAROLYN CAMPBELL!❤️

‘A heart of gold, a generous soul, the face of an angel.’
Carolyn Campbell was all the good things – an amazing mum, a loving partner, a dedicated and professional midwife who devoted her life to making sure mums and bubs were safe before, during and after the birth.
She was a fiercely loyal friend, an adventurous soul, deeply compassionate, funny, intelligent, strong and generous.
Carolyn was killed in a suspected murder-suicide at her home in Boambee, NSW, about September 26. She is the 52nd Australian woman killed this year and the 157th woman killed since January 1 of 2024.
A friend was visiting the home she shared with her loving husband. That friend is suspected of having ended Carolyn’s life before killing himself. Carolyn and her husband had opened their doors to this man, giving him a bed and a roof over his head.
I’ve had so many people reach out to tell me of their love for Carolyn.
Carolyn’s murder will reverberate across countless people – her family, her friends, her patients, her colleagues and the local community.
The weight of loss sits heavily on their shoulders. The questions are many, the grief and anger palpable.
“Your generosity of spirit was so immense, and your vivacity for life and adventure encouraged all of us to do more, be more, and live more,” Carolyn’s friend and colleague Amanda says.
Another friend wrote Carolyn had “a heart of gold, a generous soul, the face of an angel”.
