Mario Marcelo Santoro murdered Cecilia Haddad in Sydney in April of 2018 after stalking and abusing her for weeks.
She was living in fear and doing everything she could to survive in the wake of ending their relationship.
He fled to Brazil but it was almost impossible for NSW Police to extradite him to Australia.
in 2023, a Brazilian court convicted and sentenced Santoro to 27 years for murder and concealing Cecilia’s body.
As of today, he’s spent barely two years behind bars for Cecilia’s murder – and already he’s relaxing on the beach.
News Corp is reporting the domestic violence thug applied to serve his sentence part-time but that was rejected.

Instead the judge decided an excessive delay of ‘re-socialising’ would hinder his rights and spending time in public’ fully compatible with the gradual reintegration of the convict into society’.
Santoro has a job in a recycling factory where he works Monday to Saturday. He returns to jail to sleep.
He also gets to spend 35 days a year (or five weeks) on holidays from prison.
That’s more annual leave than Cecilia would have got had she been alive to continue her career.
