❤️HIS NAME IS JORDAN NORRIS!❤️
‘Jordan was fun, playful and cheeky’
This evening, the Gladstone community will gather to mourn and remember three very important lives – 12-year-old Jordan Norris, his best mate Chazz Mather (also 12) and Jordan’s mum Jordana Johnson.
A woman is charged with the murders of Jordan, Jordana and Chazz in Toolooa, Qld, on October 15.
Jordan is the 20th of 21 children killed in 2025. Chazz is the 21st child lost to violence this year. Jordana is the 55th Australian woman killed this year. Chazz’s post will follow and Jordana’s She Matters post is already published.
Jordan and Chazz were more than just friends they were brothers, their families say.
The lads were having a sleep-over at Jordan’s house when the charged woman allegedly set fire to the property. The cruelty here is beyond comprehension – these boys and Jordana had no way of escape. No hope.
But this is not a post centred on brutality – it is a post highlighting the importance of Jordan to his community, to his friends, to his family.
“Jordan was fun, playful and cheeky, protective of his Mum, his sisters, and his friends,” the families of the victims said in a media statement.
Friends of Jordan and Chazz posted tributes and laid cards, flowers and toys at the memorial for the victims.
“I really wish I could have seen you one more time but this world is so cruel and just took you from everyone that loved you so much,” one friend said.
Their families wrote: “Jordana, Jordan and Chazz are our nutchum, our whanau, our family,” their families said, honouring their First Nations and Maori heritage.
“As you can see, we have representation from two families from different cultures that are now one through this tragedy.
“We are supporting each other by connecting, reflecting and sharing the beautiful memories to honour them all.”
JORDAN NORRIS MATTERS!❤️
