❤️SHE MATTERS: UNNAMED WOMAN!❤️
Sometimes, when I read media reports about another woman murdered, I find out more about their neighbours, their house or even the proximity of the local school than about the woman killed.
Often, all we know is her age and usually her relationship status. Sometimes we find out if she has children.
In the case of women killed in remote and rural communities, we find out nothing.
And so we are at that point again.
A 58-year-old woman was repeatedly stabbed by her male partner (allegedly) on October 24 in the middle of a street in Broome, Western Australia. She passed away in hospital the next day.
Bruce Grant Kittimbill, 56, is charged with her murder.
She is the 56th Australian woman killed this year and the 161st woman lost to violence since January 1, 2024.
When I find out more I will update this post. Until then, at least we know she existed and she matters to someone. Even us strangers.
