IOne phone call would have saved Amy Bowden’s life.
But the man who was with her in her dying moments failed to pick up that phone.
Amy died at Redwood Park, Adelaide, on February 8, 2024. She was only 26.
Amy’s boyfriend Ethan Ross chose to inject her with methamphetamine to reverse a heroin overdose.
Amy’s boyfriend Ethan Ross chose to inject her with methamphetamine to reverse a heroin overdose. Had he called 000, the chances of Amy dying that day are slim.
Ross has pleaded guilty to administering a drug and is yet to be sentenced.

Ross is not charged with causing Amy’s death. The charge he does face is minor, and the sentence range is low.
Amy’s mum Michelle Sposito wants the South Australian Government to change the law and introduce tougher penalties for people who do not call emergency services in a medical emergency.
“The maximum Ethan Ross can face for this charge is 10 years, yet all of us who stand here today have been handed a life sentence,” Michelle said after Ross faced a hearing last week.
“Amy’s legacy will live on in all who truly loved her, not those who purported love but then showed none. Amy mattered to a lot of people, and it is the world’s loss that she is no longer with us. We will never stop fighting for justice.”
