Every now and then I look back on this article by Ron Liddle and ask myself, how the fuck is he still a working journalist?
In 2003, he argued men should be able to consume child sexual exploitation material because the viewer is not the one harming the child.
He seems to have forgotten REAL children are abused by REAL perpetrators to make this content.
The Guardian published the article in full – it remains online – and old mate Ron is still employed.
There were even letters sent to The Guardian in the wake of this article by parents of men who viewed child exploitation material, complaining their sons too had been unfairly targeted by cops.
If you wonder why we have issues around child exploitation and the people who consume this material, just look at Liddle and his continued ascent to get a clearer understanding!
