I have started looking for a permanent home in Melbourne for the She Matters Mural.
Mariner Group decided to tear down the Hosier Lane artwork on Friday.

Mariner owns The Forum, the wall on which the mural had sat for 13 months and two days. They removed the mural under the guise of ‘repairing’ the exit door on which some of the cards were place. They’re communication with me was minimal and last-minute and it did not explain the entire project would be destroyed. Melbourne City Council told media they would work with me, yet no one from the council has contacted me.
The Mural commemorated the lives of 203 Australian women killed from January 1, 2024 to April 4, 2026.
There is a She Matters Mural in Ballarat and there is one in Orange, but the Hosier Lane Mural was extra special. I’ve visited, repaired and added to the mural at least twice a week since installing it. Every woman’s face, name and story is etched in my brain. I have had contact with almost all of their families.
This wasn’t just a project. It was a work of love and hope. My heart is shattered.
I’ve spent the past few days deciding the best way forward. I’ve decided to bring the project back and am seeking a wall in inner-Melbourne.
My preference is for a large private-owned wall in the CBD, Carlton, Fitzroy, Collingwood or surrounding areas. Int he meantime, I will start knocking on doors and fundraising to re-erect the Mural. If you’d like to donate, tap the button below.
