Jan Kauffman was murdered at her home in O’Connor, Australian Capital Territory, on May 14.
The 79-year-old mother-of-three’s husband was also injured in the attack.
Their 51-year-old son Marcus Kauffman is charged with murder.
Jan is the 25th Australian woman killed this year. Last year we lost 79 women to violence – the year before 106 women were killed.
As I write, 37 women have been killed in 2026 – Jan is one of seven women allegedly murdered by their sons this year.
