Mother-of-three Jan Kauffman was murdered at her home in O’Connor, Australian Capital Territory, on May 14. Her 51-year-old son Marcus Kauffman is charged over Jan’s death. Her husband was also injured in the attack. Jan is the 25th Australian woman killed this year. Last year we lost 79 women to violence – the year before 106 women were killed.
