Maulik Dhandhukia drowned his six-year-old-daughter Devarshi Dhandhukia on June 13 in Concord, NSW. Then he ended his own life.
Devarshi is the 12th of 13 Australian children killed this year. A total of 27 children were killed in 2025.
Dhandhukia repeatedly hired a boat and took it out on the Parramatta River.
The third time was the last time.
This time he put little Devarshi into the vessel.
He did not put a life jacket on her, before taking the boat into deep water.
There, he tossed the little girl overboard. She could not swim. He let her drown. Police found his suicide note.
One large mainstream media outlet provided a lengthy re-telling of the killer’s supposed medical problems.
The journalist didn’t say he was left with no choice but they didn’t have to – we can all read between the lines.
