A woman lost her unborn baby when two men broke into her home and assaulted her.
NSW Police are not investigating despite the victim, Elaine, repeatedly begging for them to be found and charged.
They entered her home on the morning of July 30, 2024. Elaine was nearly two months pregnant with her first child whom she named Alex.
“I remembered I was slapped, bashed, pushed, kicked and hit with fists, legs and weapons,” Elaine says.
“I remembered being treated like a rag doll thrown around by them and from significant heights.
“I was utterly defenceless against two physically strong men twice my size armed with weapons inside my own property.
“I was screaming, and crying and have never felt as scared and helpless in my life.”
Elaine managed to call 000 and her local station. Police were not immediately dispatched.
Four officers attended. They failed to use their body worn cameras, secure the crime scene, take fingerprints, record Elaine’s statement, review evidence she tried to give them and they lost the contact details of a witness.
“The criminals are still at large – free and carefree,” she said.
“There was absolutely no transparency nor accountability following the horrific crime and demise of my poor child.”
Elaine was told the injuries she suffered may prevent her from falling pregnant again.
“Losing my child is a pain that I will never forget and will carry to my grave,” she says.
