Missing since July 4 in Donald, Victoria, police have just charged a 16-year-old boy with her murder. The boy is known to Layla. Layla is the 17th Australian child killed this year. A total of 27 children were killed in 2025.
Layla’s aunt Kaitlyn told media her niece was a very sweet and fairly shy girl.
“She was very sassy when she wanted to be because she knew her own value really well,” Kaitlyn said.
“She was 13 going on 30.”
I really wanted to say to people reading this post, please do not make comments about Layla or her family that disrespect them in anyway.

Layla was very much loved and her family and friends – indeed her entire community – deserve kindness and empathy right now.
