A man charged after an 11-year-old boy was shot in the face and neck in a Norwest home on Monday allegedly concealed his co-offenders’ ‘intent to murder’, police said this afternoon.
The little lad is in hospital, fighting to survive.
Issac Bechara is charged with concealing an indictable offence and other people who where there when the child was almost killed are refusing to cooperate.
Police allege Bechara failed ‘without reasonable excuse’ to inform police ‘knowing that a serious offence had been committed’, the Daily Telegraph reports.
The shooting was conducted with the ‘intent to murder the child’.
The weapon has not been found.
“Some of the people who were present at the time of the shooting are not currently cooperating with investigators,” Superintendent Naomi Moore told media today.
“We haven’t been able to speak with the child himself, we do not know and are not eliminating any possibility about how this tragic situation happened.
“However, a number of individuals inside the unit at the time are well-known to NSW Police, and their association with organised crime is being considered by investigators.”
