On May 21, a 22-year-old child protection worker was beaten by her partner at Johnston in the Northern Territory.
She suffered irreversible brain injuries and died 10 days later on May 31.
The male is charged with assault.
She is the 32nd Australian woman killed this year and the 135th killed since January 1, 2024.
