Her name is Courtney Paige Anderson, and her family is seeking justice for her unexplained death.
She was the passenger.
The driver was her male partner.
According to police reports, he drove about 100 metres down the road after she exited the car. After stopping the car, he did not provide life-saving CPR for Courtney and did not call 000.
Courtney died on that lonely road.
Did Courtney jump in fear for her life? Was she pushed?
Her family has no idea what happened.
They want answers and don’t believe that the Queensland Police and the Queensland Coroner’s Office investigated Courtney’s death to the full extent of their powers.
A coroner has just ruled Courtney ended her own life deliberately.
Courtney’s death was not investigated by the homicide squad.
Local detectives say they cannot find enough evidence to charge the male.
For authorities it’s pretty much case closed.
Courtney’s mum Lee-Ann and dad Don said their daughter was in good spirits, enjoyed her job, was spending time with mates and family and she was looking forward to going on a holiday – they don’t believe that she was suicidal.
Her family say that Courtney endured 10 years of domestic violence before her death and police confirm that there were prior reports of “incidents” between Ms Anderson and her partner. They believe something happened in that car to make her leave the vehicle.
Courtney endured 10 years of domestic violence before her death – her family believes something happened in that car to make her leave the vehicle.
Late in 2014, another woman exited a moving vehicle – not that far from where Courtney died.
In Rinabel’s case, a coroner found she was in such extreme terror she had no choice but to take the extreme move.
Courtney’s loved ones see parallels between the two cases. They were both women living in relationships with a documented history of domestic disputes, and according to Courtney’s family, she, like Rinabel, wanted to end her relationship. They were both passengers in vehicles being driven at speed when they jumped.
And yet, the outcome cannot be anymore different.
PLEASE JOIN OUR FIGHT TO GET JUSTICE FOR COURTNEY
