JUSTICE FOR KELLY

JUSTICE FOR KELLY

She is a mum. She is a sister. She is a friend. She is someone.
She is a victim of our femicide epidemic. She is a victim of the system designed to hold her killer to account and to give her justice.
And yet you do not know about her. And you do not know that her killer still walks our streets.
Her name is Kelly Williams (Duffy). She was only 31.

After 23 years of inaction from police, the media and political leaders, Kelly’s sister Paula Duffy is doing the one thing no grieving relative should have to do – campaigning for authorities to recognise the importance of her sister’s life, the impact of her murder and the need to get the person who killed her into a prison cell.

Paula and Kelly’s children deserve answers from police and the Victorian Coroner’s Office.

The RED HEART Campaign and Australian Femicide Watch are running the Justice for Kelly campaign on behalf of Paula and her family.

We are calling on the Victorian Attorney-General Sonya Kilkenny, the Victorian Minister for Women Natalie Hutchins, the Victorian Police and Victims Minister Anthony Carbines and the Victorian Police Chief Commissioner Mike Bush to:

  • Re-open the investigation into Kelly’s murder;
  • Have her death examined by the coroner at a public inquest into her death; and
  • Approve a $1 million reward for information about Kelly’s death; and
  • Meet with Kelly’s family to learn about why this woman is valued.

Kelly was murdered on February 27, 2002, in Hawthorn, Victoria. She had four young children. Their lives were devastated and irrevocably shaped and changed by the actions of a killer.
