SHE MATTERS: ALI LAUREN

❤️SHE MATTERS: ALI LAUREN! ❤️

She deserves to be valued and remembered as someone – not a clickbait headline, not her job, not an exclamation point in her (alleged) killer’ story.
Her name is Ali Lauren and she deserves so much more than the media has given her.
Ali was murdered at her home in Bassendean, Western Australia, on August 20, 2025.
Her partner Tobias Marcus Nuttall is charged with murder.
Ali is the 47th of 48 Australian women killed this year and the 151st of 152 women killed since January 1, 2024.
Ali is the victim and yet (no surprise here) almost every headline, almost every story is about her (alleged) killer. A low-grade man with a microphone who happened to put the word ‘podcaster’ in his bio.
And if it’s not enough that he’s making global news, along comes another low-grade man with a microphone who also calls himself a podcaster to tell us how his good mate and colleague was anything but a monster (hot tip, Mr Man With A Mic, killers don’t look like monsters. They look the man you see in the mirror everyday – normal average blokes. Nothing more nothing less).
Many of Ali’s friends have reached out this pass week or so to tell me how amazing, generous, kind, thoughtful and caring this woman was.
“Thank you for remembering, not for how she decided to work but for how she lived the rest of her life,” one friend told me.
Another friend said: “She was my friend and she was beautiful. It is so sad to accept she is another statistic. As women we need to fight harder for justice for our mothers, daughters, sisters and friends.”
