❤️SHE MATTERS: ELIZABETH PEARCE! ❤️
““Our beautiful, bright girl brought sunshine to our lives and we are now in darkness.”
Elizabeth Pearce was only 24. She was doing her own thing, minding her own business, when an angry and drunk man decided to drive his high-power car at 130km/h down the road – it smashed into her ride-share vehicle. Elizabeth died on the scene. The ride-share driver is in hospital.
The male who allegedly killed Elizabeth is charged with her manslaughter. She is the 11th Australian woman killed this year.
How this man is not charged with murder, I cannot comprehend.
Make no mistake, this was an act of brutality that could only have one outcome – the killing of someone. In this case, a young woman on the cusp of life. She was a marine biologist and was setting out on her career path.
Elizabeth’s family have released a statement saying their world is shattered.
Media have kindly informed us all about how amazing her alleged killer is. They wrote reams about his career, achievements and rich family.
And in court, the man’s break-up with his former partner was mentioned, raising the specter of putting this all on a woman who played no role in his actions.
And so, the ‘good bloke’ narrative has begun. “We have a nine-minute period between 10.02pm and 10.11pm that have put him here, we have an upstanding citizen otherwise,” his lawyer said.
They never say this about a woman.
Even when she’s the victim.
REST IN POWER ELIZABETH PEARCE❤️
