Kah Ming Tan was so many things to her people – an adored sister, a loved colleague, a gregarious friend. Most of all, the 28-year-old was a dedicated and proud mum who would do anything for her little children.
Ming was found critically injured in her home at St James, Western Australia on August 26.
She’d been brutalised days before and left without any of medical support. She passed away in hospital a short time after emergency services came to her home.
Younis Qambari – Ming’s partner – is charged with her murder.
Ming is the 48th of 49 Australian woman killed this year. Last year we lost 79 women to violence – the year before 106 women were killed.
Ming’s sister is now caring for her children.
“She was a caring, hardworking and valued member of our community who touched many lives through her kindness, dedication and warmth,” Ming’s friend Irra writes in a GoFundMe for Ming’s family.
“Since her passing, there has been an overwhelming response from colleagues, friends, and members of the wider community who have asked how they can help her children.
“While nothing can replace the love of a mother, together we can help ensure Ming’s children are surrounded by the care, support, and opportunities they deserve.”
