❤️SHE MATTERS: KIM DUNCAN❤️
Her name is Kim Duncan. She lived for her grandkids and family was her life.
On Monday, people drove past her home in Ambarvale, NSW, and sprayed it with bullets.
Kim died at the scene.
Kim is the 17th of 19 Australian women killed this year and one of 122 women killed since January 1, 2024.
It’s not known who killed Kim, but police believe they were sending a warning to someone inside her home. She was the unintended victim of their violence.
After I posted about Kim’s death, many men came into my mentions to tell me I had it wrong – that she wasn’t murdered. That her death should not be counted because they were not out to kill her.
I will never understand how anyone can downplay the murder of Kim. She would be alive but for the actions of another person – a person who should have foreseen that shooting into someone’s home would end in a life taken.
The Daily Telegraph’s not running a story about Kim. They are not showing her photo online. They are showing the photo of a traditionally beautiful woman who was also killed in the past 24 hours.
That’s because she is older, she doesn’t fit their rigid views of beauty, she doesn’t fall into the worthy victim category.
t’s the same old roundabout and it keeps going around in shitty circles of discrimination and bias.
Kim, you matter.
REST IN POWER: KIM DUNCAN❤️
