❤️SHE MATTERS: KRYSTEL PAUL!❤️
‘My dad sent me here because she’s dead’.
This is what a 10-year-old girl said to a neighbour moments after her father shot her mother to death.
That child was left to clean up the pieces after a man with a history of domestic violence decided to end the life of 41-year-old Krystel Paul in Mt Sheridan, Qld, last night.
As the little girl ran for help, he ended his own life.
Krystel is the 31st Australian woman killed this year and the 134th woman killed since January 1, 2024.
She’d been in a relationship with him since they were young. Throughout, he’d subjected her to domestic violence. But already, media and social media users are pushing the narrative that he was a top bloke.
One of the killer’s best friends had the gall to write on the Cairns Post social media: “Everyone will be quick to judge and say he’s this and that but the truth is he’s a top bloke.”
Media quoted witnesses saying they’d never seen any abuse happening.
Hot tip! You almost never do.
Femicide never happens in a vacuum. When a man decides to murder a woman, whether it is domestic violence or not, there are always precursors.
And they rarely abuse their partners in public – that’s left for the four walls of their homes.
Police also claim there was no domestic violence – what they really mean is they either never followed up on concerns and filed a report from Krystel, or she didn’t report because she knew they wouldn’t act or believe her.
Just 13 days ago, a woman was murdered in Queensland after police told her to come back when it gets physical.
REST IN POWER, KRYSTEL PAUL! ❤️
