The man who killed Nerida Quinn, her niece Sophie Isabelle Quinn, Sophie’s unborn child and her friend John Harris should never have been on the street.
He had subjected Sophie to offending including stalking in the months before Nerida, Sophie and John were murdered.
Sophie was sitting in a car with John when her former partner allegedly shot her and John dead at Lake Cargelligo on Thursday.
Julian Ingram (aka Pierpoint) is now on the run.
After killing Sophie and John, he murdered Nerida and injured another male.
Nerida is the fourth Australian woman killed this year. Sophie is the third woman killed in 2026.
It is fast becoming clear, this man should have been locked up. Indeed, NSW Police officers did not oppose bail when he applied after he was charged for offences against Sophie. The alleged killer was also the subject of an AVO.
How a violent criminal on an AVO came to have weapons is also a question that needs answers as soon as possible.
