❤️SHE MATTERS: RAJWINDER KAUR!❤️

Imagine you are a journalist and you have the opportunity to humanise a femicide victim but instead you land on: She ‘may have been about to expose a secret affair’.
They could have said so many things about 44-year-old Rajwinder Kaur, but this is where the media landed. A salacious headline based on gossip and innuendo.
Rajwinder was murdered in her home at Epping, Victoria, on October 9. Her landlord is charged with her murder. She is the 54th Australian woman killed this year and the 159th woman lost to violence since January 1, 2024.

Police say Jaswinder Gill swapped cars, removed number plates, dressed in a hazmat suit (presumably to avoid getting her DNA on him), stalked her house, entered the home illegally, beat her to death, changed his clothes, hid the suit in a bag and left.
His actions were allegedly pre-meditated and planned down to the last detail.
But instead of examining the life of Rajwinder, the media tarnished her by implying she was doing something untoward to hurt him.
Rajwinder moved to Melbourne from Europe and was of Indian heritage. She had a son, who she loved dearly.
She was respected and adored by all who knew her. She was just living her life her way. She deserves more than gossip and clickbait headlines.
