❤️SHE MATTERS: RICHARNA (CHARNA) RYAN-PRIOR!❤️
‘She was a fighter and survivor’
Child care professional Richarna (Charna) Ryan-Prior lost her mum when she was young and she lost her partner 16 years ago.
Despite the pain and heartache, her light burned brightly.
Charna deserved all the good things. But someone decided to end her life.
The 35-year-old was murdered in Gordonvale, Qld, on January 18.
Charna’s male cousin is charged over her death.
She is the second Australian woman killed this year.
Last year, we lost 77 women to violence – the year before 105 women were killed.
“She was a good person, she had many struggles and he overcame them,” a person close to Charna told media.
“She was a fighter and survivor.
“She lost her mother at an early age to lupus and her partner got thrown out of a dinghy up at Thursday Island about 16 years ago.
“She was a bloody good girl and loving.”
Charna’s former colleagues are also mourning their peer.
“Charna’s time with us, and the care she showed to those around her, will be remembered,” Mount Peter Early Learning Centre said in a statement.
“The loss of a member of our extended early childhood community is felt deeply, and our thoughts are with her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
“Charna’s kindness, warmth, and care touched many during her time with us.”
