❤️SHE MATTERS: SALLY BARTLETT!❤️
Sally Bartlett is one of the Australian victims of violence whose death has flown well under the radar – there’s been minimal reporting about her and the impact of her loss on her family, her friends and her community.
The Victorian Homicide Squad is investigating Sally’s death. She died in suspicious circumstances at her home in Deer Park, Victoria, on July 17.
Sally is the 37th Australian woman killed in 2025 and the 141st lost to violence since January 1 of 2024.
Three people were at the home and arrested. The 30-year-old man, 26-year-old woman and 38-year-old woman have been released without charge, with Victoria Police confirming the investigation continues.
Media have reported Sally died as a result of being stabbed – and this has been confirmed by a family member.
Sally is a mum to three children.
“She was a great woman and an animal lover and lived life to the fullest,” he daughter says.
“She was a very outgoing and caring person.
“She was very sweet and she helped and supported everyone.”
There’s always such a disconnect in how mainstream media reports on women killed – some women are given months of coverage. And some … well … journalists do the bare minimum.
Ten of the 37 women killed this year were lost in Victoria – and yet the local media, the state government and its MPs, the safety and domestic violence sector and Victorian safety advocates are almost silent on this.
Makes me wonder, how much women really matter – but I do know Sally matters to those who love her.
