❤️SHE MATTERS: SAMIA MALIK❤️
She came to Australia for a better life. She came to Australia to help her family. She came to Australia because she believed she would be safe and protected. On Tuesday, a man mowed Samia down with his car. Then he left her in the middle of the road to die.
No calls to 000. No first aid.
He drove off like a coward into the night.
Samia died on that road. She never had a chance.
A man is charged over her death. Samia is the 26th of 27 women killed this year and the 129th of 130th killed since January 1, 2024.
Samia was 20 years old. A family-focused intelligent young woman studying in Adelaide. Her family remain in Pakistan, thousands of kilometres away from their daughter and sister. They have little money and now they must fundraise.
“She came to Australia with dreams, with courage,” her brother says.
“She was an international student, studying hard, paying her own way through university.
“She had no WorkCover. No insurance. Nothing to protect her.
“No help in death – just like there was no one to help her in her final moments.
“Every moment without her feels like the world has stopped.
“Our family is in pieces. There are no words for this kind of grief.”
