❤️SHE MATTERS: UNNAMED WOMAN ❤️
A woman coming home from her holidays with her mum.
A woman killed by a man on a mission to end his own life.
A woman forgotten about by the media.
Her name is unknown.
But the story of her death is all too familiar.
She was just 56 years old when a 43-year-old male deliberately drove the wrong way – at speed – on the Leach Highway in Cloverdale, WA, on January 13.
She was in a taxi with her 81-year-old mother. Her mum and the driver of the taxi were both killed.
Police have confirmed the man who killed these three people made a deliberate choice to drive dangerously toward another vehicle. They have confirmed a murder-suicide investigation.
She is the 2nd Australian woman killed in 2025 – her mum is the third Australian woman killed.
Since their deaths, we have lost four more women to violence. The 2025 killed women toll is now seven.
It’s disheartening to be unable to tell you anything about this victim. And it is made even worse by the media going out of their way to identify the killer and to write sympathetic stories about him – another familiar story and one that’s unlikely to change.
The killing of Australian women is an epidemic. In the past 57 weeks, we’ve lost 108 women to violence. That’s about 2 women killed (on average) each week.
I’ve spent three weeks trying to confirm this woman’s and her mum’s identity, but it’s been to no avail. If you are able to provide more information, please email sherele@AustralianFemicideWatch.org
