The body of an unnamed woman was found in her home in New Town, Tasmania, on May 16. She was murdered a few weeks before. Rajesh Jiwan, 56, who is known to the victim, is charged with her murder.
She is the 28th Australian woman killed this year – and the second woman killed this week. Last year we lost 79 women to violence – the year before 106 women were killed.
