He allegedly murdered her and left her in bushland.
Her body was found on June 10 nearby the Goldfields Highway in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
Bevan Watson – who is known to her – is charged with murder.
She is the 32nd of 34 Australian women killed this year. Last year we lost 79 women to violence – the year before 106 women were killed.
She was one of four Australian women and girls killed as a result of femicide in a seven-day period. In the week, one shark attacked an Australian women.
That shark attack dominated news feeds for days and political and media identities came out in force to condemn the shark in question, some even calling for the seas to be policed and animals to be eradicated.
The same media and identities disregarded the femicides. But this is how it has always been in Australia – women and children lost to violence continue to be ignored.
