Kempsey Shire Councillor Noel Selby told a woman ‘pity he hadn’t bashed you’ on a Facebook post about a man accused of multiple murders.
She had simply asked about domestic violence allegations against the person who was the subject of the original post.
I have left the murder suspect’s name off for legal reasons.
When questioned by other Facebook users about his comment he dug his heels in and refused to remove it or apologise. The Council claims he was hacked and someone else made the comment using his profile. He remains in his job.
