‘I love him more than anything.’
His name is Darweish Mohamed. He was only 15 years old.
Darwiesh was stabbed and left to die at the front of a medical centre, Craigieburn, Victoria a few days ago. Three teenage boys are charged with his murder.
Darweish is the 14th Australian child killed this year. A total of 27 children were killed in 2025.
Two others are charged over events related to his death.
Darweish was a respected and loved student at Mount Ridley College. It is clear from the tributes by his peers that this young lad will be missed. Of the children killed this year, three were murdered by young people 18 or under.
It’s so hard to watch children killing children. To know these young killers have experienced the world in such a way that their belief systems and attitudes are framed around the need to be violent.
“I love him more than anything. I love him, all my family love him,” his father Abdulaziz Mohamed told media.
“Why do they kill children like that? Our family is very shocked. Why did they kill him in such a savage way?
“Darweish was a good boy.”
