A man once charged with three rapes has been named a legend by a major sporting organisation.
Stephen Milne will play in the 2026 AFL Legends Game in August.
He was charged with multiple rape offences after he assaulted a 19-year-old woman in a case of deception.
He duped the woman into believing she was having a consensual interaction with another man. She could not see in the darkness and believed he was the other man.
She did not consent to sex with Milne.
In 2014, the Office of Public Prosecutions dropped the rape charges in return for the plea to indecent assault.
Milne was fined $15,000 but no conviction was recorded due to his actions being out of character.
The judge said by not recording a conviction, Milne would find it easier to get a job – the guy literally sexually violated a woman by deception and is still being platformed by the AFL!!!!
The AFL has not responded to calls for Milne to be dropped.
