Pauline Hanson – whose own son is a domestic violence perpetrator – has declared domestic violence is a ‘two-way street’ and that women are responsible for their own safety. Instead of saying men are responsible for their decisions to be violent.
For the record, we have lost 38 women to violence this year and 27 of them were killed by domestic violence perpetrators, including eight mothers murdered by their sons.
“It is wrong, but it’s also a two-way street,” she told 4BC.
“I’m not saying that it’s just men, women can lose their cool as well.
“Society is under so much pressure.
“Domestic violence is a scourge but look – I’ve been through it myself in my life.” “And I just feel if you’re not in a house where you feel safe, then you shouldn’t put up with it.
“If these women are getting abused by men out there, then don’t put up with it.”
