❤️HER NAME IS LOLENE WHITEHAND!❤️
The killer suffocated her, threw her body in the river and stole from her. The end result – six years in jail.
This is the value our legal system puts on a frail elderly woman who was killed in a cold and calculated act of violence by an opportunistic predator.
Her name is Lolene Whitehand. She was only 85.
Milena Bogojevska killed Lolene on July 12, 2024, at Footscray, Victoria. Bogojevska has just been convicted over Lolene’s manslaughter and was sentenced to eight years in jail with parole after serving six years.
Lolene was the 51st of 106 women killed in 2024.
Lolene had a son, a daughter and a sister. Her son Gary did not live long enough to see Bogojevska sentenced.
However, he did provide a victim impact statement and this was read out in the Victorian Supreme Court last week when Lolene’s killer was sentenced.
“I have deep sadness with the death of my mother and the way her life was ended. I keep picturing my mother being found in the river,” Gary wrote.
“I miss my mother’s voice.”
A friend told the court, Lolene’s generosity and kindness continued to echo throughout her community.
“For her 80th birthday we knew she was not seeing any family so we organised a surprise birthday party at our house,” her friend said.
“Boy did she get a surprise.
“This crime not only hurt my family, it also affected our whole neighbourhood.
“She’s in our hearts and we’ll never ever forget her. We think about her every day. We loved her.”
LOLENE WHITEHAND MATTERS❤️
