Michael Tracey is among the men trying to out Jane Doe.
She’s the woman who was raped by the seven Cornell University students.
Tracey’s been using social media to call for people to send him information about her and promising to identify Jane Doe if he can get the information he needs.
Tracey has form for demeaning sexual assault survivors, including victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
He does this under the guise of free speech and freedom of the press.
Meanwhile, social media user @aidannonx (Aidan Thompson) has published the name and photo of a woman he says is Jane Doe. He put the material on X (formerly Twitter). Many people have said the person identified is not her. Either way it is deeply dangerous and should be removed by the platform.
The only person who should identify Jane Doe is Jane Doe. Otherwise, we need to protect her identity at all costs.
