Sam Wood joked about strangling his partner to death before he was charged with a strangulation offence.
He been stood down from 28 by Sam Wood after being charged with domestic violence offences.
Wood was remanded in custody and is due to return to the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Thursday afternoon. Wood is charged with assault occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence) and strangulation in a domestic setting.
In a statement posted to social media this morning, Snezana Wood said: “This is a difficult time for all of us, we are working through this as a family.”
DBG Health – the business that operates 28 by Sam Wood – made a statement to media today, saying: “DBG Health has zero tolerance for domestic violence.”
“While the matter is under investigation and before the court, Sam Wood is on indefinite leave from his duties. Our thoughts are with the family and anyone in the community affected by domestic violence.”
The 46-year-old was in Noosa on holidays when the alleged attack occurred.
“Officers attended a Hastings Street, Noosa address around 9pm Saturday after receiving reports of alleged domestic violence,” a police spokesperson said on Sunday.
