Stephen Milne – once charged with multiple rapes and found guilty of sexual assault – has been dumped from the AFL Legends Game.
The move has just been announced, but it took a lot of women calling the organisers out to get them to act.
Milne should never have been listed for the August event.
Just remember – at least one person in the organising team decided it was appropriate to platform a man who violated a 19-year-old woman in a case of deception.
He duped the woman into believing she was having a consensual interaction with another man. She could not see in the darkness and believed he was the other man.
She did not consent to sex with Milne.
In 2014, the Office of Public Prosecutions dropped the rape charges in return for the plea to indecent assault.
Milne was fined $15,000 but no conviction was recorded due to his actions being out of character.
